Love and lust; these two elements are connected. If either one of them makes a move, then it may affect the other. Therefore, let's call it the Love Butterfly Effect.

Mimi Keene, born in the United Kingdom, gave an internationally broadcast performance in the role of Ruby Matthews in Sex Education. In this TV series, she is confident, bold and emotional, just like a standard millennial.

'Unconditional love...which comes in any form...' - Mimi Keene

There are many forms of love, whether to be loved, to love or to enjoy love. This concept has appeared in everyone's life since ancient times. However, if we were discussing which form of love suits Mimi best? She said, 'Unconditional love...which comes in any form whether it's a pet, a sibling or a friend. When you're able to accept someone for who they are and support them even at their worst, that's an unconditional love that can't be beaten.'

'We start to see the complexities of Ruby in Season 3, which I thoroughly enjoyed during filming.' - Mimi Keene

Sex Education season 3 will be streamed on Netflix worldwide this year. When I asked what Mimi was looking forward to, in this important work that enabled her to break into the international market, she unveiled that Ruby Matthew's role will be different from the past. 'I’m excited! We start to see the complexities of Ruby in Season 3, which I thoroughly enjoyed during filming. I'm really looking forward to audiences seeing her as a multi-dimensional character, with a vulnerable and softer side that helps explain her somewhat prickly exterior. She can be incredibly sweet and I think it will be enjoyable and also important for audiences to see a different side to her in this season.'

'I think if I were to compare myself to Ruby in Season 1, her meanness is not something I can relate to, but her love of fashion is something that I share. The more Ruby's character develops the more I can relate to her. The truth is no matter how much you think people have got everything together, we all have insecurities at some level. So, I think in that sense, everyone can relate to Ruby in one way or another.'- Mimi Keene

Unfortunately, Mimi has never visited Taiwan. Still, she mentioned that she was very impressed with Taipei Fashion Week AW21, especially the theme of sustainable fashion. 'Sadly, I've not had the opportunity to visit Taiwan yet, but I'm looking forward to hopefully doing so one day. I'm a huge fan of fashion, and I remember seeing some of the incredible and innovative looks that came out of Taipei Fashion Week earlier this year. Sustainability is something that has often been at odds with the fashion industry but seeing looks made out of recycled scrap tyres and fish scales was truly inspiring.'

'Sometimes, when you're busy and rushing around it's easy to take things for granted, and not take the proper time to pause and appreciate life around us.' - Mimi Keene

In Taiwan, there may still be many people who are unfamiliar with this 23-year-old actress. But if you look down on her only because of age, I can tell you that what she's doing has maturity beyond her years. During the interview, she mentioned that she is a fan of the director John Hughes, and a quote from Ferris Bueller's Day Off deeply affected her. 'I'm a big fan of John Hughes films, and there's a beautiful quote from Ferris Bueller's Day Off that resonates with me: 'Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.’ Sometimes, when you're busy and rushing around it's easy to take things for granted, and not take the proper time to pause and appreciate life around us. If there's one thing that the pandemic has forced us to do, it's to soak up every experience and opportunity, which is what I'm now trying to make a conscious effort to do.'

'I'd rather take risks than have any regrets later in life!' - Mimi Keene

No matter what kind of things you go through, experiencing life involves joy or sorrow. As long as you fight for every second, then you can reduce the possibility of regret in the future, right? The theme of issue09 of TAIKER Magazine is CARPE DIEM UNITED and no matter how you explain it, as long as you dare to pursue it, it should not be difficult to enjoy life to the fullest.

'I think 'Carpe Diem' is a great motto to live life by. Life is short and it's important to take risks and live life to the fullest. It's easy to make yourself small and not go after what you want, but I'd rather take risks than have any regrets later in life!'
